'Project Runway' Star Heads for Temecula Mall

Nick Verreos, a red carpet gown designer and former contestant on "Project Runway," will host Promenade Temecula's Project Style 2011 Style-Off, set for Sept. 17.

A former "Project Runway" contestant and red carpet gown designer will be on hand to name Temecula’s Top Fashion Trendsetter.

Nick Verreos is set to host Promenade Temecula’s Project Style 2011 Style-Off at 1 p.m. Sept. 17. Five fashion forward contestants--including two Murrieta residents--will compete for the title during the finale event. The fashion event brings to a close a five-round fashion contest hosted by Promenade Temecula and Shoptopia.com

Since April, two selected semi-finalists each month have been given the challenge to create the most stylish outfit that represents their personal sense of style and creativity, said Kristi Reedy, a spokesperson for Promenade Temecula. Each month, Shoptopia members voted online for their favorite trendsetter.

Finalists vying for the top prize of a $1,000 gift card to Promenade Temecula and bragging rights as Temecula’s Top Trendsetter include Riciel Sobreo of Winchester, Daniel Castillo of Murrieta, Kei Pham of Murrieta and Lexi Lorah of Temecula. The fifth finalist will be named after the final round voting ends Wednesday.

The final five will compete Sept. 17 in the Style-Off event, during which they will each be required to create an entire outfit with accessories within one hour and on a budget of $250, Reedy said.
