Loma Linda Murrieta CEO Expected to Resign

A news release was expected to be put out Wednesday, a hospital spokesperson said.

The resignation of the CEO of newly-opened Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta may be announced tomorrow, local news reports stated.

According to a post on The Californian, Bruce Christian may be leaving his post as CEO/president of the medical center. Other high-ranking administrators may also be leaving, the newspaper reported.

Hospital spokesperson Kathryn Stiles said a news release was expected to be put out Wednesday morning.

The hospital opened in April after a 27-month construction period. It was the original brainchild of several area phsyicians, who then partnered with Loma Linda University Medical Center to construct the hospital. The doctors had to be bought out by LLUMC because under the new federal healthcare legislation, Medicare funding is not being paid to physician-owned hospitals.
