Winchester Road to Close in French Valley Monday A.M.
State Highway 79 -- it is also called Winchetser Road -- was scheduled to close from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. between Newport Road and Patton Avenue.
A section of state Highway 79 was scheduled to close Monday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for a blasting and cleanup operation, according to the Riverside County Transportation Department.
The highway, also known as Winchester Road, was set to shut down from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- between Newport Road and Patton Avenue.
A single blast was planned near Patton Avenue sometime between 10 and 11 a.m., with the goal of removing boulders, officials said.

Construction crews will work to widen Highway 79 from two to four lanes.
During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Domenigoni Road, Interstate 215 and Scott Road.

The work is part of a campaign by the Transportation Department to widen a 5.4-mile segment of the highway from Murrieta north to Domenigoni Parkway. More information is available here.
