Five People Displaced in Winchester Fire

The fire broke out just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

A Wednesday morning fire in the unincorporated community of Winchester has left five people without a place to stay, fire officials reported.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, three adults and two children were displaced by the fire which broke out around 9: 04 a.m. in the 34700 block of Marvin Hull Road.

Nearly two dozen firefighters were sent to the blaze, and managed to contain it to just one room and its contents, according to fire spokesman Mark Annas.

"They kept it pretty much in that room,"  Annas told Patch.

Though the fire didn't spread through the entire house, it still caused enough damage that the Red Cross was called out to assist the family who lived there, according to fire reports.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
