Murrieta Girl, 12, Makes Film Debut in Jersey Boys Movie

The Dorothy McElhinney Middle School student will be seen on the big screen beginning this Friday.

While other local students may be headed to the movies this Friday night, one young girl will be in the movies.

Ashley Joyner, a 12-year-old student at Dorothy McElhinney Middle School, can be seen in Jersey Boys, her mom tells Murrieta Patch.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film is his adaptation of the hit Broadway musical which tells the story of the men who formed the 1960s group The Four Seasons.

"Ashley was very excited to be working with Clint Eastwood and couldn't wait to get started," Carrie Joyner tells Patch of her daughter's experience.

The soon-to-be eighth-grader shot her scenes as the young Celia Valli-- who was Frankie Valli's adopted daughter-- over the course of two days in September 2013.

Jersey Boys releases nationwide this Friday, June 20.

Joyner has also acted in the Disney television show "Jessie" and a commercial for the Pasadena Department of Water and Power, according to her mom.
