Murrieta Girl Scouts Earn Bronze Award With Dog House Project

The dog house and one-of-a-kind thank you cards were donated by Murrieta Girl Scout Troop 104 to Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Temecula.

News release:

Girl Scout Juniors from Murrieta Girl Scout Troop 104 completed their Bronze Award—the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn—on April 27 by donating a dog house and volunteer thank you cards to Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Temecula.

The girls met with a volunteer from Habitat For Humanity back in February and together, they came up with the projects. The girl scouts then spent a day working with some troop dads to build the dog house, and with their troop leaders to make one-of-a-kind thank you cards that Habitat for Humanity can give to their volunteer workers.

The dog house will either be given to a recipient family that has a dog, or sold in the ReStore to raise funds for Habitat For Humanity.

The girl scouts chose this project because “they wanted to make a difference” and “because it is nice to help others."
