Extreme Heat Warning Expanded To Include All Areas Of Riverside County

Children and the elderly are especially susceptible to the effects of extreme heat.

The heat warning in effect since July for desert cities of Riverside County has again been expanded to include all cities in Riverside County, according to health officials.

Temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees beginning Wednesday and cool centers will be open. Vulnerable individuals, such as children and the elderly, are encouraged to visit a cool center during periods of high-heat days.

Cool centers provide snacks and water, in addition to activities and resource information. Cool centers are open during the week. Residents should check with their local cool center for hours.
