Fire Dept.'s 64th Annual Barbecue Set for April 17

The event takes place at Fire Station No. 1.

Get the bibs ready, the Murrieta Fire Department will host its 64th Annual Barbecue April 17.

The tradition dates back to April of 1948, just a year after the department's founding date in 1947. The annual event is the community's chance to mingle with each other, the firefighters and explore the history of the department. Several antique fire engines and cars will be on display.

The fun kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and lasts until 4:30 p.m. at Fire Station No. 1, 41825 Juniper St. in Historic Downtown Murrieta.
