Earthquake Strikes Just South of Temecula, Murrieta

The quake centered near Rainbow was reported at 6:29 a.m. Thursday, USGS reported.

The U.S. Geological Society is reporting that a magnitude-3.6 earthquake struck Thursday morning south of Murrieta and Temecula.

Caltech is also reporting the temblor.

There were no reports of injuries.

A "shake map" provided by USGS shows the seismic event was felt at a light and weak level throughout Temecula Valley.
