Noise from artillery fire training at nearby Camp Pendleton may be heard this week, base officials advised.
Training hours are from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, Thursday, Jan. 24 and Friday, Jan. 25, according to an advisory issued by the base.
The training, which involves firing high explosive munitions, is taking place in the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
