5 Things to Know in Murrieta Today: March 13

One showing only of "To Catch a Thief" at the new Art house at the Cal Oaks Movie Experience.

1.) Good news! According to the National Weather Service, all tsunami warnings and advisories have been canceled for the U.S. Along with calmer seas, calmer weather is expected, too. Today will be mostly cloudy and gradually becoming sunny to reach a high near 71. Tonight, it’s expected to be partly cloudy with a low around 41. Patchy fog is expected before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.

2.) With so much going on, don’t forget the weekly  Murrieta Certified Farmers Market in the Village Walk Plaza--especially if you need to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables for the week! The bounty doesn't stop there. Find fresh flowers, crafts, specialty food vendors, nuts, fresh breads and bakery items. You never know what you might find! The market opens at 9 a.m.

3.) Today is the last day of the Tour De Murrieta and will conclude with a Circuit Race, approximately 3.5 miles per lap, on a mostly flat route. The finish line is on Washington Street.  If you’re near Historic Downtown Murrieta, watch out for cyclists and show them support by giving them space to race. Good luck racers! 5.) Tonight only, the will be playing “To Catch A Thief,” one of Hitchcock's lighter and funnier films starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. In "To Catch A Thief," Cary Grant plays ex- jewel thief, John Robie, out to clear his name after a series of copy cat jewel thefts are committed. The French police are certain that it is John who is committing the recent robberies. To prove his innocence, John decides to stake out several people of whom, all own expensive jewelry. A woman named Jessie Stevens (Jessie Royce Landis) and her daughter, Frances (Grace Kelly), is one of John's and the real thief's targets. Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be pre-show discussion and goodies, like pizza from Scarcella's Italian Grill, and free coffee. Admission is $7.50.
