5 Things to Know in Murrieta Today: Feb. 19

Flash floods watches are still in effect, but there are plenty of indoor activities to keep you busy.

1.) Flash flood watches, along wind advisories, are still in effect until late this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, a thunderstorm may hit today and later tonight. The high is expected to be around 53 with a low near 37. All sports fields in Murrieta will be closed today and tomorrow due to the weather. For leagues that have requested lights, they will be turned off and not charged.Failure to follow the field closure could result in a citation. The City Community Services Department plans to reevaluate the fields on Monday. 

2.) If you are shopping for a new house, don’t let the rain stop you! Here are some of the open houses going on today in Murrieta: 37522 La Encino Circle, 30341 Savoie St. and Grouse Lane. 3) Attention all Magic: The Gathering fans! Test your skills and share a booster box with other players to compete for a FAT PACK or Store Credit only at Ryan’s Comic Shop. Players start with three packs and begin by choosing one card from that pack and passing the pack to the left to build their own deck. The event begins at 5 p.m. and admission is $16.
