5 Things to Know in Murrieta Oct.17

Kids eat free tonight at Buffalo Wild Wings.

1.The start to the week will be warm but nice, according to the National Weather Service. Today will be sunny with a high near 92. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with a low near 57. Winds could gust up to 25 mph; be careful if driving at high speeds or participating in any outdoor activities.

2. The entry deadline for the city of Murrieta Veterans Day Parade is fast approaching. The parade is set for Friday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. along Washington Avenue in Historic Downtown Murrieta. The deadline to register is Oct. 28. In lieu of entry fees, $25 voluntary donations will be put toward the Murrieta Veterans Memorial. 3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: chicken nuggets and a chocolate chip cookies. 4. is having a maternity tour tonight. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., space is still available for this week’s tour. To reserve your place call 1-855-909-BABY.

5. Kid’s eat free today at. Between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., enjoy one free meal off the children’s menu for every adult entrée purchased. The children’s menu includes cheeseburger slammers, corn dogs, wings, chicken tenders and mac’ and cheese.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The Riverside County Transportation Commission, the California Department of Transportation and the City of Murrieta are working to widen Interstate 215 to six lanes between Murrieta Hot Springs and Scott roads. The speed limit on I-215 through this area is now 55 mph for the duration of the project; traffic fines are doubled for those caught speeding. TRAFFIC REMINDER: Starting Tuesday, Oct. 18, California Oaks Road at Interstate 15 will be closed most nights for about three weeks. The closures are from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and affects all lanes under the freeway overpass.
