Photoshop & Digital Painting Class- Greg Wray (Disney Artist)

 In this course, students will learn the fundamental tools, techniques, and work flows for Photoshop CS6.  It can be said that Photoshop is the backbone of the computer graphics industry. Students will learn the how to of painting, illustration, video games, movies, and every area in between.  Photoshop is commonly used by working professionals in any creative field.  Throughout this course, students will learn the tools, concepts, and workflows needed to succeed with Photoshop.

Lesson #1 -  Introduction to Photoshop; Lesson # 2 - Creating textures, using textures. Adding value with the airbrush; Lesson #3 - Color exploration and opaque painting techniques; Lesson #4 - Painting continued; Lesson # 5 – Adding details. Begin 2nd painting; Lesson #6 – Refinements and adjustments; Lesson #7 – Continue painting; Lesson #8 – Prepare images for printing. Print editions for all paintings created.

About the instructor: Greg attended the University of Illinois and Syracuse University in New York where he received his bachelors in Fine Arts focusing on illustration.  He completed his higher education at the Art Center in Pasadena, California.  During his twenty five year career as a freelance illustrator Greg’s images have appeared in all forms of visual communication.  His rendering of licensed characters for the Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., and many well know licenses have been a part of all of our lives.  He was able to enjoy all aspects of the industry….concepts, drawing, and even deadlines.
