Local Writers Invited to Read Poetry

Kick back this Friday evening with your favorite coffee drink, some friends and listen to a little poetry written by local writers.  Patricia Bruckner, a notable poet laureate and Lynda StarWriter, a longstanding freelance writer, have been invited to read their poetic work at the Cup Above Coffee House: 31700 Railroad Canyon Drive behind Pepe’s in the Canyon Lake Shopping Center. The Cup Above hosts open mic night on the last Friday of every month.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to share written work based on my life experience. I want to instill hope when people hear my poetry,” said Bruckner. “The words kind of tap on the windows of people's souls to uplift them," she said.

“I know my poetry resonates with humor because life’s pretty funny most of the time. I wrote a piece about a Husky wrench, back when I reluctantly repaired a shower head and asundry plumbing. I have to catch the butterflies of inspiration before they quickly flit away, poetry or no,” said StarWriter.
