Community Remembers Fallen Army Sergeant on One-Year Anniversary of Death

Sgt. Eric Williams' memorial tree at Murrieta Fire Station No. 1 on Juniper Street is getting some community attention on the one-year anniversary of his unfortunate and untimely death, Murrieta fire Chief Shobert said in an email Tuesday to Patch.

Shobert's office overlooks the tree that was planted in May in honor of the Army sergeant who was killed July 23, 2012 in Afghanistan.

Williams, who was 27 when he passed, spent most of his life growing up in Murrieta, and was a graduate of Murrieta Valley High School.
