I have a 3,600 sq ft home In Murrieta with a pool. My home is all gas except for the pool pump and the air conditioning and of course any lights and tv's. From 2010 to 2011 my bill more than doubled in the really hot months from $300 to over $600. This year was the same. I am always in tier 5 even without using any air conditioning and never below $200. I am looking for comments from other home owners in similar homes in Murrieta with regard to their electric bills. I did contact SCE about the high temp that is recorded for our area on a daily basis and it seems that it is based on a sensor posted on a high location (probably closer to the coast) since their high temp for most days is between 10 and 20 degrees less that what it was here in Murrieta. Does anyone else wander why we pay rates based on a sensor that is so out of the range of our temps here? Does anyone know what can be done about this? Another thought......Fresh and Easy on Nutmeg (which seems not the be opening now) has had their lights on 24/7 for over a year ??? So much for saving energy!!
