5 Things to Know in Murrieta: May 16, 2013

Murrieta Mesa High School presents its Spring Dance Production tonight beginning at 7 p.m.

1. Patchy fog is expected before 11 a.m. and after 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, today will be cloudy through mid morning, followed by gradual clearing and a high near 76. Tonight, expect increasing clouds and a low of 56. Areas of drizzle are possible after midnight.

2. The Murrieta Mesa High School presents its Spring Dance Production tonight beginning at 7 p.m.  Held in the Gershiwn Performing Arts Center at the school, tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 6 p.m. Doors to the theater open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5, $4 for students, seniors and military. The event repeats Friday.

3. Here's what's for lunch today at elementary schools in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District: crispitos. Lunches are served with a fresh fruit/salad bar and a choice of juice or milk. Lunches average 612 calories and 27.41 percent fat. To see middle and high school menus, click here.

4. A fundraiser to benefit Murrieta Valley High School's Class of 2016 is being held throughout the day at Stadium Pizza,  32278 Clinton Keith Road, Suite 101, in Wildomar. Stadium Pizza will donate a portion of each sale on regular-priced, non-delivery items. The Class of 2016 is raising money for prom, student activities and scholarships. Be sure to tell the cashier in advance that you are participating in the fundraiser.

5. It's Thursday and that means J. Carter's Tavern Grill is hosting Open Mic Night with Brett Cohen and the Luv Buckit. The event, featuring the local musicians in an open mic environment, runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 40365 Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
