Motorcyclist Survives Injuries in I-215 Crash

CHP's preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle driver was traveling at speeds greater than 100 mph on his 2006 Suzuki GSXR, splitting between lanes when his right mirror struck the side of a big rig.

A motorcycle rider who suffered major injuries in a crash Wednesday night on Interstate 215 in Murrieta has survived his injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Salvador Tringali III, 28, of Perris suffered massive blunt force trauma in the accident that occurred at 9 p.m. Wednesday on northbound Interstate 215 just south of Murrieta Hot Springs Road, according to the accident report provided Friday by CHP at the request of Patch.

The impact caused the truck to veer to the left, in turn hitting the rear of a Ford Taurus.

The truck and the car sustained major damages and pulled off to the left shoulder, while Tringali was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the northbound lanes.

Tringali was taken by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, then transported by helicopter to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda.

The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries, while the truck driver was uninjured.

There were no arrests made in the accident, and as of Friday, CHP Officer Nathan Baer said Tringali had thus far survived his injuries.

At least one lane of northbound I-215 was closed Wednesday night while authorities investigated the accident and the wreckage was cleared.
