Celebration of Life Planned for MVHS Senior Saskia Burke

Friends, family, schoolmates and the community will celebrate the life of Saskia Burke, the victim of a fatal stabbing.

A public celebration of life is planned Feb. 11 for slain 18-year-old Murrieta Valley High School senior Saskia Burke.

The celebration will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Performing Arts Center, 42200 Nighthawk Way, Murrieta.

Saskia was , in her family's home, allegedly by a fomer family acquaintance, 19-year-old William Gary Simpson.

"Saskia’s friends and family are putting together the celebration with music and remembrances," said Karen Parris, spokesperson for the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.

Those who attend are asked to bring a dark colored rose if they are able, Parris said.

"Donations and cards will also be gratefully accepted at the celebration."
