Records show McGlown—who previously served a two-year prison term for a 2008 residential burglary—was arrested about 1:04 p.m. Friday on Latham Street in Hemet.

"Results from the Coroner’s Office autopsy and presentation of this case to the Riverside County District Attorney [are] still pending," Conrad said. "The Murrieta Police Department expects additional charges against McGlown to be filed in the near future."

Conrad also confirmed that it was Wesley’s 3-year-old son who was rescued from the apartment during the fire.

"He was treated after the incident and has been released from a local hospital in good condition. His identity will not be released," Conrad said.

Police encouraged anyone with information regarding this investigation to come forward. Detective Sgt. Phil Gomez can be reached at 951-461-6356 for anything related to this investigation, Conrad said.

The suspect was being held on no bail, sheriff's jail records indicated.
