8 Injured in 3-Car Crash on Madison Avenue

No one was seriously injured in the three-car crash that prompted police to close Madison Avenue to through traffic.

Three adults and five children were transported to area hospitals when three cars crashed Friday afternoon in Murrieta.

The crash was reported at about 3:18 p.m. on southbound Madison Avenue between Kalmia and Juniper streets, near Lowe's. It involved a full-sized Dodge Ram truck, a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Murano sports utility vehicle.

Five ambulances were required to transport all the patients, according to Murrieta fire Battalion Chief Pat Jennings. Two Murrieta fire crews responded, set up triage and began treating patients while awaiting each ambulance crew's arrival.
